The man with the iconic grunt, rapper Rick Ross, will be returning to South Africa as the headline act at the Youth Hip-Hop Festival to held in Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on 2 May. This is the second time the Maybach Music founder will be visiting the country. His first visit did not go too smoothly however – Ross was invited to perform at IT billionaire Robert Gumede’s 50th birthday bash in August 2013. Things however got a bit heated when Rozay refused to do his gig after a bag filled with his jewellery apparently went missing.
Gumede got onto the stage at the kwaNyamazana Stadium, in front of a crowd of approximately 4000 attendees and said, “Tell this American to come and fetch his bag, it’s here. He mustn’t p*ss me off.”
He is currently promoting his upcoming album Hood Billionaire. Here’s to hoping this visit has less drama and a great turnout.
